Comber Young Men Football Club originated in 1977 in Comber Methodist Church Youth Club formed by the late Billy Allen and were accepted into the Churches League, Section 4.

During their first season they won promotion to Section 3 having dropped one point all season and finished runners up in the McCallum Shield. The year 1980 saw Comber Methodist change their name to Comber Young Men with the late Billy Allen still as Manager. The season 1982-83 was the highlight of the Club’s history when they won the league and the McCaw Shield beating 1st Division teams throughout the competition. Many people rate this team as the best in the history of the club.
