Young Men Football Club originated in 1977 in
Comber Methodist Church Youth Club formed by the
late Billy Allen and were accepted into the Churches
League, Section 4.
During
their first season they won promotion to Section
3 having dropped one point all season and finished
runners up in the McCallum Shield. The year 1980
saw Comber Methodist change their name to Comber
Young Men with the late Billy Allen still as Manager.
The season 1982-83 was the highlight of the Club’s
history when they won the league and the McCaw
Shield beating 1st Division teams throughout the
competition. Many people rate this team as the
best in the history of the club.
